36th Annual Wall Street Business Leadership Council Tribute Dinner

Boston College alumni, parents, friends, and leaders gathered at the Waldorf Astoria New York for the signature event of Boston College’s Wall Street Business Leadership Council on April 23, 2026. A record 850 guests attended the tribute dinner, which welcomed gifts from 550-plus donors, raising more than $4.4 million for the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program.

During the event, University President William P. Leahy, S.J., presented the President’s Medal for Excellence to John F. Fish, P’13, ’18, ’23, chair of the Boston College Board of Trustees, who celebrated his relationship with the University, saying “Boston College gave me a purpose and a meaning in my life, which has been its greatest gift of all.”

We hope to see you at the 37th annual tribute dinner on Thursday, April 15, 2027, at the Waldorf Astoria New York.

2026 President’s Medal for Excellence Honoree

John F. Fish, P’13, ’18, ’23
Chair, Boston College Board of Trustees
Co-chair,
Soaring Higher Campaign

John Fish is chairman and CEO of Suffolk, a national contractor that builds, innovates and invests. Under his leadership, Suffolk has become one of the nation’s leading privately held builders, generating more than $9 billion in annual revenue and ranking #23 on Engineering News-Record’s “Top 400 Contractors.”

Mr. Fish is a respected voice and thought leader in the business and real estate development communities. He is the former chair of the Real Estate Roundtable, a national public policy advocate for the U.S. commercial real estate industry. He is a founding member and director of the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership, and he is a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Mr. Fish also serves on the Real Estate Board of New York, the Partnership for New York City and the National Business Roundtable.

Mr. Fish chairs Brigham and Women’s Hospital and serves as vice chair of the Mass General Brigham executive committee. He sits on the board of the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research. Mr. Fish is also serving his second nonconsecutive term as chair of the Boston College Board of Trustees—he is the first non-alumnus in the history of Boston College to serve that role.

Mr. Fish is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He received an honorary doctorate of engineering technology degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology, is the recipient of an honorary degree from Regis College, and received an honorary degree in business administration from Curry College. John and his wife, Cyndy, have three daughters, Christine, Jennifer, and Caroline, who have all earned degrees from Boston College.
